Once again, Boss was still a bit under the weather. So I tagged along with Charles and the team from Kentucky on their visit to the university, which it sounds like I would have done anyway (except boss would have been there).
Today was the first day I really got the oportunity to get any good footage. I'm easing my way back into filming, and filming in public at that. It is something a bit outside of my comfort zone, hence why I need to work on it. I don't think the boss was expecting me too, but was happy that I did. It is what I am here to do and it is what I want to do.
The school is big, and has an industrial feel to it. The groups split into two and "prayer walked" around the school. In all honesty, not my thing nor do I understand it. Prayer, yeah, but prayer walk? Must be an AoG/Pentecostal thingy (and I am Protestant with liturgical leanings). To each there own.
Apparently, this is a massive party school, and we had come the day after a massive once at that. Except, there form of partying seems to be slightly different that what we have in the States. I wouldn't know, it was never my thing. In the US its around football, or dancing, or something. Here, according to what I've been told, its just drinking as much as you can. Maybe it isnt that different from home. I don't know. Like I said, not my scene.
Fun fact: the college is a Freemason school, which in Europe is strongly Atheist and anti-church.

They party hard. I feel I would have to fight for my right to NOT party. |
Ok, so tonight was the college ministry night with SFC (Students for Christ). There are several interns from the states. Two of which are at the house, and just found out today that I speak english. One of them walked into my room to introducer herself after she found out.
Anyway, it was great to be able to participate in such an activity. Most, if not all, of the students are African. They all attend, plan on attending, or are taking a break from attending one of the local universities.
After the message, Charles had one of the interns set up Corn Hole in the back, meaning I would have to clean up my gear since everyone passes through my room to get to the back. Not a big deal. But it was entertaining to watch them play. I guess corn hole happens in Europe when the ministry team is from the south. What has this world come to? Haha.
Said i would blog this one. So I did. Silly SFC intern. |
So all in all, a good day and a good night. Hopefully not problems getting to sleep. Shouldn't be to bothered by any internal issues popping up to bother me. If i have trouble sleeping, thats because I am still jet lagged.
Bonne nuit.
