Stepping Out

I was on my own a bit today. Boss was sick. He had a note slipped under my door:

So I went back to sleep. I woke up an hour later and decided it might be a good idea to spend the time working on my language skills. Gotta start somewhere. While doing so, Charles walked in to grab something. Remember, my room is kind of storage/backyard and garage access. He was taking his son to the park and kindly asked if I would like to join. I put on my shoes and grabbed my camera.

This was great. It got me out of the house and talking to someone new. This is a little step to a larger victory. By doing this, I felt comfortable enough to go out on my own. I returned to the park right after lunch just to walk around.

Both times I was there I heard several languages, including English. This is good. Very good. The more comfortable i feel in the environment, the more comfortable I'll feel interacting. Transitioning from a stagnant life to an active one is very much a shock to one's system. And with any major transition, things are going to be rough. For me, it is self worth which i realize has been at the root of any major personal issue. So the current challenge is to place my self worth not in worldly things, but in Christ.

That being said, I know what you are really here for: PICTURES!
