Interviewing Charles and Amanda of Students for Christ Brussels. Go Pro was a safety. |
WARNING: Camera filmy technical stuff ahead.
There were some problems i came across other than my inability to transfer thought to mouth. I ran into a technical issue i was not expecting. My secondary camera, a refurbed Nikon 1 J1 stopped functioning. In other words the card slot broke and will no longer accept sd cards. Great. But my 60d and Go Pro are still working perfectly, and I even hacked my old Canon t1i with Magic Lantern to get a bit of extra usability out of the old thing. Thankfully, the 60d got everything I needed and looked great! Now I have the task of cutting down 25 minutes of interview + 35 minutes of b-roll down to a compelling 5 minute story. Good thing it's going to be rainy and gloomy the next couple of days.
Now for something non-technical:
For those who know me, you know i am going to get restless from all this sitting and editing. This month is also a slower month when it comes to travel. So in other words, things are a bit boring right now. This just adds to my restlessness. And as many of you are aware, I do monthly video updates. Now, I cannot just show you video of me sitting in front of a computer drinking tea. I mean, there will be that too (especially the tea part). So the only thing to do is make things interesting. Hello urban exploration! And to save money, I walk everywhere. Its great. My new weekly task is to walk 3 miles round trip to the Grand Place and back, taking a new route every time. It is quite enjoyable and I always have a camera ready. I get to see something most visitors don't. I get to see the real culture. Or in Brussels' case, I get to see the unique blend and mix of cultures. Really, this was the result of me not wanting to wait on the bus for 15 minutes. Its a 20 some minute bus ride back to the house and a 45 minute walk.
Some more photos were added to the Street Photography Experiment set on Flickr. You should go check it out. Once again, if you haven't already (even if you have), go check out May's video update.
More coming soon.

This is the thing i do with the Go Pro at different locations. Some do panoramas, I Go Pro (video) myself. |
