Paris Update

In Paris, drinking tea,  and relaxing

It was 3 crazy weeks in Italy. I'm currently at my aunt and uncle's place in Paris relaxing a bit. Any train back to Brussels, which there is none directly, would stop in Paris. It would be of poor judgement if i didn't take the time to see family. Its family that has been very supportive of me.

I need a nice break before returning to Brussels to do some heavy editing and prepping for my next assignment. Travel on your own, 3 weeks of filming in 2 new places, where you don't speak the language, in a city you don't know your way around takes its toll after a while. Don't get me wrong, it was an amazing time and i have met some wonderful people. People who i hope to build lasting connections with (because its what i do).

I need to rest. I get some time to myself. I've explored parts of Paris, which is much larger than Rome or Brussels. The hard part is putting the camera away. I leave for Brussels Tuesday and i think its time that i just pack up my camera for the remaining time. My eyes need a rest. It takes a lot of work to make good moving images. And after 3 weeks in Italy (and 2 of those in Rome), its time for me to take a break. It feels like it is harder for me to take a good photo or video clip right now. My mind and sight is overloaded and i just need mental detox.

Family is the best thing for me right now, including my two energetic little french cousins. Being a traveler, i no longer have a home (not on this continent). This is the closest it gets for me because family is the strongest bond I have. As i start to feel rested, i do get a bit of work done and get some new stock footage. But this isn't a high priority at the moment. Even missionaries need vacations, including those only doing it for 11 months. It is hard to believe that I am half way done.

I will have a better blog post, a ton of pictures, and a video update when i return to Brussels. For now i am going to relax and enjoy my time with family in Paris.

Any lack of relaxation is caused by these two, which is still rejuvenating
